Butylene nennt man drei isomere, ungesättigte Kohlenwasserstoffe der Olefin- oder Aethylenreihe von der Zusammensetzung C4H8 (s. Aethylen).
Sie finden sich im Leuchtgas und den Produkten der trockenen Destillation kohlenstoffreicher organischer Verbindungen. Im Leuchtgas gehören sie zu den sogenannten schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen (s. Leuchtgas).
